Electric Cargo Trike for Farms: Compact 3-Wheel Utility Vehicles

LLAMA Truck Blaze electric cargo trike for farm use with canopy and teal cargo bed raised in dump position

Not every farm needs a full-size side-by-side. If most of your hauling happens in barn aisles, greenhouse paths, orchard rows, market garden beds or around the house and sheds, a three-wheel electric cargo trike can do the same daily chores for a fraction of the price and in a lot less space.

This page explains what an electric cargo trike is good for on a farm, which LLAMA Truck models fit which jobs, what they cost, and what to check before you order.

Why Farmers Choose a Three-Wheel Electric Cargo Trike

Lower price

Our three-wheel farm trikes currently start at $1,999 for the Crest, and the Platinum, Blaze and Vector range from $4,499 to $5,799. Our four-wheel models start at $10,499. For small farms, homesteads and nurseries that mostly need to move feed, tools, compost and harvest crates, that difference matters.

Small footprint

According to our dimension drawings, the Crest, Platinum, Blaze and Vector are each roughly 3 feet 7 inches wide and about 9 to 10.5 feet long. That narrow body fits through standard farm gates, down barn aisles, between raised beds and along orchard and vineyard rows, and it parks in a corner of the shed.

Tight turning in narrow spaces

With a single front wheel and handlebar steering, a cargo trike can usually turn around at the end of a row or in a barn alley where a wider four-wheel UTV would need several back-and-forth moves. We don't publish a turning-radius figure, so the honest advice is to measure your tightest turn and ask us before you buy.

Easy to learn

Handlebar steering and a simple throttle mean most family members and farm workers get comfortable quickly. On the Platinum, a single foot pedal applies the brakes on all three wheels, and its controller includes hill-descent and anti-rollback functions for stopping on slopes.

Easy charging, no fuel

Every model is listed with AC 110–240V charging input, so you can charge from a standard outlet in the barn or garage. No gas cans, no oil changes, no small-engine start-up problems after the winter.

Real Farm Jobs for an Electric Cargo Trike

  • Livestock and barn chores: feed bags, hay, bedding, water containers, and mucking out stalls with a dump bed.
  • Orchards and vineyards: picking bins and lugs, pruning tools, ladders and irrigation parts along the rows. See our guide for vineyards and orchards.
  • Greenhouses and nurseries: trays, potted plants, soil and compost along narrow paths. Our plant nursery trike guide goes deeper.
  • Market gardens and u-pick farms: harvest crates from the field to the wash station or farm stand.
  • Homestead and property upkeep: firewood, gravel, mulch, fencing supplies and tools.

Which LLAMA Truck Cargo Trike Fits Your Farm

Crest – compact, budget farm trike ($1,999)

LLAMA Truck Crest compact electric cargo trike with orange frame and gray manual dump bed, side view

The LLAMA Truck Crest is built for narrow barn aisles and everyday property chores. It has a 1200W peak motor, a manual dump bed with an 1,100 lb max payload rating, up to 42 miles of range on the 72V version, a 25+ mph top speed and a 15-LED headlight. It's about 9 feet long and 3 feet 7 inches wide. The current price is $1,999 (regular price $4,399).

Platinum – stainless steel for wet, muddy barns ($4,499)

The LLAMA Truck Platinum has a full stainless-steel body that resists rust and corrosion, which makes sense around manure, wash-down areas and wet ground. It has a 1500W motor, a 72V 58Ah battery, a payload of up to 1,100 lbs, a gas-strut assisted manual dump bed one person can tip, and a 25 mph top speed in sport gear. The inner cargo box measures about 4 ft 11.8 in by 3 ft 4.2 in.

Blaze – off-road farm trike with dump bed (from $4,799)

The LLAMA Truck Blaze is our off-road farm cargo trike. The Blaze has an 1800W motor and 1,500 lb max payload; the Blaze Pro steps up to 2000W and 2,000 lbs. Both use a 72V 58Ah battery with up to 50 miles of range, are rated for 30° slope climbing and ship fully assembled with a canopy. Pricing runs from $4,799 (Blaze, manual dump) to $5,599 (Blaze Pro, power dump bed), depending on configuration and color.

Vector – canopy trike for heavier daily hauling ($5,799)

The Vector has a canopy, an open-chassis design for quick loading and unloading, an 1800W nominal (2000W peak) motor, a 2,000 lb payload rating and up to 50 miles of range. It suits farms that move a lot of material through the day and want shade over the driver.

When a Four-Wheel UTV Is the Better Choice

A cargo trike isn't right for every farm. If your work is mostly on steep hillsides, loose or very rough ground, or if you need two seats side by side and long daily distances, look at a four-wheel UTV. Our trike vs UTV vs golf cart comparison lays out the trade-offs honestly.

Delivery, Warranty and Returns

Our shipping policy lists free shipping to the lower 48 states. Trucks are delivered fully assembled by freight, curbside unless other arrangements are made, and we confirm delivery details with you before shipment. Some sale-priced items note that shipping fees apply, so check the product page and checkout for your model. Coverage includes a limited lifetime chassis warranty and a 2-year warranty on other factory-installed parts, with battery terms on our warranty page, plus a 30-day return window under our return policy.

Before You Order: A Quick Checklist

  1. Measure your narrowest gate, aisle and row. Compare it with the roughly 3 ft 7 in width of our farm trikes.
  2. Know your heaviest load. Pick a payload rating with margin, and remember that dense loads like wet manure, gravel or soil add up fast.
  3. Walk your steepest route. Three-wheelers handle best on flat to rolling ground at sensible speeds, especially when loaded. Turn slowly with a full bed.
  4. Plan a charging spot. A covered space near a standard outlet is ideal.
  5. Check local rules. These are farm and property work vehicles. Rules for driving on public roads vary by state and county, so confirm locally before using one off your land.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a three-wheel cargo trike stable enough for farm work?

For flat and gently rolling farm ground at working speeds, yes, as long as you load sensibly: heavy items low and centered, and slow turns with a full bed. For steep or side-sloping terrain, a four-wheel UTV is the safer pick.

Which trike is best for a small farm on a budget?

The Crest at $1,999 is our lowest-cost farm trike with a dump bed. If your barn is wet and muddy, the stainless-steel Platinum is worth the step up.

Can I charge it from a regular outlet?

Yes. All models are listed with AC 110–240V charging input.
