Electric Farm UTV & Cargo Trikes for Texas Farms and Ranches

LLAMA Truck Vector three-wheel electric utility trike with canopy for shade, front three-quarter view, for Texas farms and ranches

Texas farm and ranch work covers a lot of ground, from Hill Country small acreage and East Texas hay operations to Rio Grande Valley vegetable fields and Panhandle feedlots. What most of those places share is long, hot summers, a mix of gravel, caliche and dirt tracks, and a constant list of short hauling jobs: feed sacks, mineral tubs, fence supplies, tools, water jugs, harvest bins and brush.

An electric farm UTV in Texas doesn't have to be a big side-by-side. For many of those daily chores, a compact three-wheel electric cargo trike does the job for a lot less money, fits through narrower gates and barn aisles, and charges from a regular outlet. This page shows how the LLAMA Truck lineup matches Texas farm and ranch work, with current prices from our store.

Why Texas Farms and Ranches Are Looking at Electric

  • Short, repetitive trips. Barn to pasture gate, feed room to pens, house to shop. These are the trips where an electric vehicle that's plugged in every night makes the most sense.
  • No fuel runs. Every LLAMA Truck model lists a charging input of AC 110-240V, so you charge in the barn or shop instead of hauling fuel cans.
  • Quiet around livestock. An electric motor doesn't have the engine noise of a gas machine, which can make it easier to work around cattle, goats and horses.
  • Fewer engine chores. No oil changes, spark plugs or carburetor cleanouts after a vehicle has sat through a slow season.

Three-Wheel Cargo Trikes: The Budget-Friendly Texas Ranch Hand

A three-wheel trike puts one wheel up front, handlebar steering, and the cargo bed over the rear axle. Here's what that means in practice:

Lower price

Our three-wheel electric cargo trikes currently start at $1,999 for the Crest, compared with $12,499 for our four-wheel Apex UTV. On a small ranch, that difference can pay for a lot of fence wire and feed.

Small footprint for gates, aisles and pens

Based on our dimension diagrams, the Vector and Platinum are each listed at 3 feet 7.3 inches wide, and the Crest at 3 feet 7 inches wide. That narrow body helps in barn aisles, between pens, through walk gates that are too tight for a full-size UTV, and in tight spots around the shop. Measure your narrowest gate before you order.

Easy to learn

Handlebar controls feel familiar to anyone who has ridden a bike or scooter, so family members and ranch help can usually get comfortable quickly. Set your own ground rules for who drives, where, and how fast.

Easy charging

Park it in the barn, plug it into a standard outlet overnight, and it's ready for morning chores.

The Platinum ($4,499) has a full stainless-steel frame and body and a gas-strut assisted manual dump bed, which is a good fit around water troughs, wash racks and humid Gulf Coast conditions.

When You Need a Four-Wheel Electric UTV

Bigger operations with long pasture runs, steep draws or a regular need for a passenger seat may want the LLAMA Truck Apex ($12,499). It lists a 3,000W rated motor, a 72V 100Ah lithium battery, a 62-mile range, a 2,200 lbs push-button hydraulic dump bed, 4-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, a 34 mph top speed with a high/low range gearbox, and a choice of turf or off-road tires. Many Texas properties pair one Apex with a trike or two for close-in chores.

Common Texas Use Cases

  • Cattle and goat operations: feed sacks, mineral, fence posts and wire, water jugs and vet supplies out to pens and pastures.
  • Hay and horse properties: moving square bales, shavings and buckets around barns and paddocks.
  • Vegetable and citrus growers: harvest bins and tools along field rows and grove lanes.
  • Pecan orchards and hunting land: moving tools, feeders and supplies along tracks that don't need a full-size truck.
  • Rural homesteads: brush cleanup, garden soil, firewood and general hauling.

Road Use and Local Rules

Rules for driving utility vehicles on public roads differ by state, county and city, and they can depend on the vehicle type and how you use it. We don't give legal advice. Before you drive on any public road, check with your local authorities and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. On your own land, set safe speeds and keep riders seated.

Free Shipping to Texas

Per our shipping policy, LLAMA Trucks ship free to the lower 48 United States, which includes Texas. Vehicles go through final assembly, testing and inspection (roughly 1-4 weeks) before delivery is scheduled. Delivery is by freight truck and is curbside unless other arrangements are made, so plan to have a way to move the vehicle from the curb to your barn.
